It was after reading an
article written by Dec Cluskey of "The Bachelors" that
Lorna first took an interest in Connemara. Dec had written
enthusiastically about his school holidays spent in the Gaeltacht
learning Irish. Now, over 40 years later Dec's brother Con is
organising the golf competitions on Lorna's Parador holidays.

After reading
Dec's description of Connemara Lorna decided
that this was the place to go. She instantly fell in love with
the area and has spent most of the past 35 years there. It was in
1998, while travelling in Spain with her book "Colourful
Connemara" - produced to promote Connemara all over
Europe that Lorna was asked to reverse the process and
introduce the Spanish Paradores to Ireland, and she has been the
Irish Representative of Keytel International (the official agents
for the Paradores) since then.

up a fish business which developed into the award-winning Connemara
Smokehouse now run by their son Graham
